Each hat ribbon is 2 inches wide and you can go either long like a lanyard that hangs down 75 inches or sewn 40 inches short and tidy for a knotted look (hang knot behind upper neck).
This hat is shaped with the same hat mold as The Hollyhock, but The Bougainvillea is woven with thicker pieces of palm for a more breathable weave.

We ship each order with a foam hat insert (also known as hat filler), that can be stuck behind the interior elastic, which can help achieve a tighter-fitting hat.
RIBBON SELECTION: To purchase additional ribbons, click here. "Wide" ribbons are 3 inches in width/heat cut at 40 inches and are designed to tie short behind the back of the head. "Long" ribbons are heat cut at 75 inches long and are 2 inches or less in width.
NATURAL MATERIAL: This hat is woven with real palm tree leaves, so there is natural color differentiation within the weave.
FIT TIP: We ship this hat with a removable foam hat insert tucked beneath the back inner elastic. If the hat fits too snug, simply pull out the foam insert. If the hat fits too loose, tuck another foam insert (an extra foam insert should be found within each box) behind the elastic inner band.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: If your hat is in need of reshaping, use a household steamer to mold the brim and crown into your desired shape. Store your hat in its original packaging or gently stuff its interior with colorless tissue paper.
